COLLEGIATE EXPOSURE CAMPS

At the heart of the MVP Basketball program is our Collegiate Exposure Camp. It became apparent that too many talented players were falling through the cracks and not being offered basketball scholarships. This was disturbing as many of those players did not have another

chance to continue their education. That education is the

life long means empowering them to become self-sufficient.

Unfortunately, some high school coaches had players

working hard on the court for them, but in turn, they were

not working hard to get their players into college. MVP

Basketball has been able to help players in one day do

what those coaches could not do in four years.

Our collegiate exposure camps have become a vital tool for

the talented and over looked student athletes wishing to

participate at the next level. Our camps provide an

opportunity for those players to showcase their skills

directly in front of college coaches and scouts looking to fill

their team roster. The players engage in an organized and

professional style workout so that every player has the

chance to highlight his own skills. Our exposure camps

have led to over 180 scholarship offers being made to our

participating players. These players have gone on to play at various Junior Colleges, NAIA and NCAA programs throughout the country.

What started as a workout to help 20 to 30 local players in 2005, has grown into an event that now exceeds two sessions and up to 120 talented players annually. As many as nineteen college coaches have attended a single camp, and they have come from states as far as Kansas, Nebraska, and Nevada. Many other coaches request player information after the days event. We are proud of the fact that we have been able to help so many student athletes attend college, and players are not charged any fees for our services.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING...

"All of Mitch's teams and programs are very well organized, the boys were very disciplined, and I could tell that he had the respect of all the boys that were in the gym that day. I attend every year. Mitch gives attention to detail, is a disciplinarian, knows talent, and holds students accountable. He has a great love for kids, the game itself, and with his recommendation, I have brought 16 players to Brown Mackie College in Kansas to further their educational and athletic careers."

Francis Flax - USA Basketball - Brown Mackie College

"I make the trip from Nebraska to Fort Wayne annually to recruit players from Coach Mitch's exposure camps. He always has hungry players who are extremely talented with character to recruit. He runs a tremendous camp."

Jim Weeks - Doane College

"MVP Classic is one of the top scouting services in the country. Mitch always has a great group of talented players, he provides easy access to player information, and the player evaluations are always spot on"

Jeremy Cooms - Head Coach at Neosha County Community College

Jason Jordan, Joe's son and a Collegiate Exposure Camp participant, received both a  JUCO scholarship to Brown Mackie Kansas and then a scholarship to a four year school, Davenport University.  He graduated with two degrees and played on the number one ranked team in the nation, and advanced to the Final Four while at both schools.
